Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society, invites paper proposals from student members for its FOURTH annual Undergraduate Student Conference. The conference provides a platform for Pi Sigma Alpha members to present their research findings in a professional setting with opportunity for engagement with peers in the heart of Washington, DC.
Students exploring topics across political science are welcome to submit proposals. This includes the many subfields that make up the discipline (American Politics, International Relations, Political Philosophy, Public Policy, and more). Panels will be created based on available paper topics and graduate students from Washington, DC-based universities will serves as panel chairs and discussants.
Interested students should complete the online proposal submission form by November 15, 2016. Notification of acceptance will be made December 15, 2016. Final papers will be due by January 23, 2017. Please only submit a proposal if you are able to attend the conference.
The conference is designed to acquaint undergraduates with the process and academic rigors of presenting research in a scholarly manner. While participating in research provides excellent preparation for graduate study, presenting your work at this conference will further enhance your experience and become even more valuable as you are considered for admission to graduate or professional schools.
